Eine Person, die hier tagsüber arbeitet, verbringt die Nächte in einem Haus in einem Brüsseler Vorort. Das Klingelschild verrät: Es handelt sich um eine hochrangige Person aus einer Abteilung, die EU-Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen unterstellt ist.
Die EU-Kommission teilt auf Anfrage mit, man sei sich der "beunruhigenden Ergebnisse dieser Recherchen voll bewusst".
In Deutschland sind die föderalen Datenschutzbehörden für die Durchsetzung der #DSGVO zuständig. Die NRW-Datenschutzbeauftragte Bettina Gayk sagt, die Behörde könne gegen einzelne Stellen vorgehen, "die rechtswidrig präzise Standortdaten verarbeiten". Flächendeckende Durchschlagskraft hätte laut Gayk aber nur ein gesetzliches Verbot.
Berlins Datenschutzbeauftragte Meike Kamp hatte sich bereits im Mai für eine klarere gesetzliche Regulierung des Onlinetrackings und -profilings ausgesprochen.

Can you draw a bicycle from memory? I suspect most people who ride one regularly and have an idea how the parts work together can make a good stab at it but these 3D renders of people’s sketches are wonkily fabulous.
Here’s my attempt. The frame certainly isn’t scaled right, and the rack and basket aren’t supported but I don’t *think* the rest of it would collapse straight away if you tried to ride it. I can’t believe I forgot to add mudguards though.
And they even made some of them into real bikes! Sadly they weren't on display last time I was at MONA but they're pretty awesome if not very rideable:

Can we do something lighter for today? The wonderful John Held Jr. and his map from c. 1930 of "A dog's idea of the ideal country estate" map. John Held Jr was really an imaginative treasure of the time. Great illustrator and commentator on the culture of the time.
I was a fond Motorola phone user at one point. I still receive their offers via email. They remind me of a time long gone when "setting up an outgoing email server" worked by way of bash-scripting and no one cared, or knew about security, however implicit. I myself may or may not have b0rked up a mass email campaign sent via our hacky tool on the first job. "Dear $fristname," ... lol. Long ago. Product quality focus at Moto may have changed too.
The relative attention to detail too warrants some cynicism: they too seem to have low safeguards agains eff-ups in the marketing domain. In emails they address me as %%=v(@firstname) at times and have funny, wacky autotranslations on the landing or product pages. Oh please.
FWIW, I would maybe still use my Moto X Style of 2015 had the battery not gone down to about two minutes of use in the end, after 3 years. Or my DIY replacement efforts would have worked out, which didn't happen, because the screws they used are both tiny and their head would wear out on attempt to unscrew. Sigh. I still applaud the excellent cameras, hardly any oversharpening, and overall smooth evenly lit pictures. The Moto gestures. And perfect proportions, good grip and weight distribution. They just don't make them like that anymore. In contrast, sometimes the current Moto product policy makes me shake my head a little, they sure cram very many models into the mid-to-low-tier range.
