I really enjoy walking in the lovely little wood near my flat. I'll be admiring the beauty (the carpet of autumnal leaves at the moment), and my dog is like, 'I've pooped. Can we go home now?'

Woods and autumnal leaves bring challenges though. I have these'
* Dog and the leaves have about the same golden-ish colour. Takes a second or two extra to find him
* Poop has the same colour. When one moment you don't look you may have difficulties finding the pile

Speaking of poop. When I was a kid the school bus dropped us off on one side of a cow pasture. We had to climb over a wooden stile, walk across the pasture (avoiding the cows), climb over another stile onto our street, then walk up the hill. During the winter we always had to be careful when there was new snow. We had no way of knowing if fresh cow dung was underneath. We frequently made it home to spend ten minutes cleaning cow poop off our shoes!

We had a terrier when we lived in Calgary and we would take him fishing. To access the river we went through a cow paddock but we didn't realize that until he found a patty to roll in. He got a dunk in the river before we let him back in the car.
