The text says "Stand to cope with contradictions? Since forever" and this nicely illustrates very mundane conflicts you are supposed to cope with.

Nena, as a kid I used to live in her neighbourhood, in walking range. More than once she rushed into the local pet shop where we 8yos looked at cute hamsters or into buying fish for my friend's aquarium, and we were like tugging one another's elbow, "look, it's her, from that song!"
At the same time it was very clear 99 Luftballons is a strong-minded anti war song, and in 1983 or what the embittered Cold War, especially for West Berlin, shaped any idea about the future we kids could have, and only a faint glimmer of hope.
