Two people had set up a slack line between two trees with about a 100 meter drop to the ground in the middle, in high and gusty winds, and I was reassured that my decision to solo downhill a really rough line on my bike was not the worst decision of the day.

as long as everyone had fun within their skill levels and got to go home
in reply to Bekah D

@bolderbekah I'd just scared the daylights out of myself and was riding much more carefully, and the woman who was set up to try out the slackline was clearly questioning her decisions when I talked to her, so there were some borderline but probably good decisions being made.

The process of picking the site and getting the slackline up there in the first place must be part of the process. That would give you time to reflect general life choices as well as this one at hand

Or so I'd trust them to judge what they plan. Me, I'd be scared sh*fleas.

@carstenraddatz_fca My experience is that when I come up with some pretty great, difficult project and go through a lot of work to get it in place, it's very hard to let it go just because some factor out of my control has changed and made it untenable.

My guess with these guys was they had planned for a long time and delayed the performance - the day before this happened was very windy, to the point where I would have cancelled the whole thing.

But, they knew what they were doing and on Sunday it was doable. (In the pixelfed gallery there's two photos fopr perspective.)

Similar here. My dog didn't care, but within hearing range there was a dog incessantly barking as living proof that some dogs do. I kinda felt sorry for the guy on the rope there. That barking was annoying to me on the other side of the park even. :P

But then again, calming down and focusing is probably the one thing you know how to sustain before you go to even knee height. So these people are fine, trust them to do it.
