This appears to have been the plan from the beginning, to strip any vestiges of devolution from the other nations in the Union, with Stormont already broken, the Welsh Assembly almost powerless, the Scottish Government in court for defying Westminster, it all begins to make sense.
They want all the power back in their hands, and then they want even more powers to override Parliament itself.
A no deal Brexit would give them the chaos and confusion necessary to enact legislation under the Henry VIII powers, legislation that bypasses the checks and balances of parliament.
Troops on the streets? No problem, emergency legislation takes care of that.
Detention of protesters? No problem, emergency legislation takes care of that.
Shut down the press? No problem, emergency legislation takes care of that.
Take them out behind the chemical sheds and shoot them? No problem, emergency legislation takes care of that.

I doubt I'm the only #Gplusrefugee here, and certainly not the only one wondering exactly how it all works, I'm pretty sure however that only actually engaging in it will it all start to make sense, and I do want it to begin to make sense.
Bit of background: I'm not a coder, I'm eclectically random in my interests, mainly #science, #environment, #science-fiction, #games, #art and #music oriented, but I'll often engage and comment on anything that catches my eye, or intrigues me.
I'm #Scottish, and #pro-independence, I suffer from terrible typing, my typo's are occasionally hilarious, so this inability to edit posts might be irritating to some of my readers, though in games I tend not to correct my typos, in my experience, most people know what I meant.
Yes, that's really my photo, it's about a year old, the beard is fuller now, the hat is adorned with a red Hackle and cap badge, but otherwise it's as accurate as it gets.
Oh, and my sense of humour tends toward dryness and irony.
I post infrequently, but I will comment on posts that I have an interest in.
Not single, not looking.
I'm here, I'll get used to it, so will you ;)
