I failed to properly attach the URL though, I'd be interested if anyone knows the proper way

Other issue I face : in Friendica there doesn't seem to be a link to the Lemmy version of this post. Wouldn't it make sense to have one has this is a post on a Lemmy group?
in reply to Liwott

Your post is on Nerdica (addressed to an actor—a community, in this case—on Lemmy). So the Nerdica version is the original, it's just been boosted on Lemmy.

The same goes for the comment I'm replying to now; it's a Nerdica comment. It shows up on Lemmy and other instances, but it canonically lives on your Friendica instance.

I agree with the state of affair. I'm just saying that as it is addressed to a certain community it would make sense to have a direct access to how it appears to said community. In addition to the original Nerdica link, not instead of it.

But yes, calling it an issue was too strong 😀

Maybe that would be good. I was just saying that that's not how it works for any other ActivityPub federation either; if you post a mention to someone on a different Friendica instance, for example, your post doesn't show a link to their instance's webview of your post. Maybe it would make sense, although I'm not sure I'd agree with that. I'm pretty happy with how it looks like just a normal, natural part of Friendica. But I can see the argument for your case, too.

And for some reason my post showed up on here with an older profile picture.
A frustrating bug in Friendica.
in reply to Sandra

Fun fact : I followed you and you picture updated instantly !
in reply to Liwott

Nice to meet you!
It's still a weird bug on Friendica.

Didn't make it to work...I'm in Venera Social. How do I tag the community?
in reply to Tucumano88

what I did was just writing !fediverse@lemmy.ml at the beginning of my post. Note that I am following the community with this Nerdica account, maybe that's a requirement.

Got inspired and tested it out from Mastodon, since we don't use the !-group function here I can't trigger the right type of post.

For now, Mastodon users can subscribe to communities and Lemmy users, comment on existing posts but never post from home server. Oh well. 🤷‍♂️
in reply to Robert Browser

Have you tried with @fediverse@lemmy.ml? I vaguely seem to remember this was mentioned in a recent release, but don't remember very well, and haven't tried from Mastodon since then.
in reply to Liwott

Yes, both as a mention and a DM. You're talking about Lemmy release notes, right?
in reply to Robert Browser

Yes, but I got confused. What I had in mind was in the 0.16.0 release :
Mastodon can now display communities even when a user with identical name exists (but the user can’t be viewed in that case).
Sorry about the confusion ! Maybe that will improve soon as they have been working a lot on federation improvements recently.
