not sure actually, but mainly some way to bring RPG talk on friendica together. I already follow the hashtags, but if I understand it correctly, I only get the posts from instances I follow, a forum would allow anyone on friendica to connect to other roleplayers
Unfortunately forums aren't supported by diaspora or mastodon 🙁
@Patrick Marchiodi I don't know how much you want to use Friendica specifically, but there's always https://itch.io/board/385327/tabletop-gaming. There's isn't a ton of movement there, so maybe better to join forces rather than having too many places with hardly any posts?
It's definitely sensible not to further split the activity. I have an itch.io account but hardly ever use it, gonna have a look at that board, thanks Nathan! 😀
@Patrick Marchiodi Haha, there's no way you could tell! Actually, my first idea was to completely separate the two "identities" (I even used different email addresses), but I'm not sure what to do about that, so...
@Patrick Marchiodi - there was one on dice.camp, and it got little movement. One of the reasons is that it's only Friendica and there's a lot of traffic on Diaspora and Mastodon. In a separate discussion, we looked at a tag to use to make threads more easy to follow, and settled on #Tabletop. I'm also trying something with a QOTD to get some discussion started and to get people more used to tagging members of the community to set up sort of a defacto lost of people in the community.
If anyone wants to be added to that list, let me know!
I saw your QOTD and that's what made me think if a forum could have sense. I didn't know the quasi-official tag to follo was tabletop, gonna add that to the ones I follow, thanks. Hashtags have the advantage of functioning both on diaspora and mastodon (even though users of those communities can't see each other's posts), but one has to remember using them when talking about tabletop games! ^^
And sorry... I confused my instances! The one that I was referencing was on rpgtable.top. There's also boardgames@social.isurf.ca, but it hasn't received traffic in quite a while 🙁
